Effect of concrete workability on bond properties of steel rebar in pre-cracked concrete

چکیده

Although research has shown a considerable influence of the pre-cracking phenomenon on steel-congested concrete members, only normal (NC) been considered in literature. The intention this paper is thus to study effect bond response pre-cracked NC with different slump flow values and self-consolidating (SCC). Initial crack widths ranging from 0.0 0.5 mm are studied. Results show that initial larger than 0.10 have significant properties, such reduction factors greater 30% 50% obtained for maximum strength specimens exposed 0.2 0.4 mm, respectively. mixtures higher workability less sensitive as compared mixtures. average stress steel rebar SCC found be similar 200 which considerably better 97 mm. Moreover, results 65.8, 80.6, 88.5 93.1% fracture energy reductions 0.20, 0.30, 0.40 0.50 respectively, small width 0.15

Effect of the Concrete Strength on the Concrete-Steel Bond in Concrete Filled Steel Tubes

In this study, the concrete-steel bond strength of concrete filled cylindrical steel tubes has been experimentally investigated. 22 short, high strength and normal concrete filled circular steel tubes were tested. Push-out test was carried out as the common method to evaluate the bond carrying capacity. Four different concrete mixes were used in preparing the specimens. The steel tubes were w...

Effect of Impressed Current on Bond Strength Between Steel Rebar and Concrete

The deterioration of bond strength between reinforcing steel and concrete as a result of impressed cathodic current with respect to the exposure time was investigated. A current in the magnitude of 3ma/ft2 (based on reinforcing rebar area) was used for a period of five years. Chemical analyses for sodium (Na+), potassium (K+) and chloride (Cl-) ions in concrete cylinders were performed as a fun...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Effect of Reinforcing Bar Contamination on Steel-Concrete Bond During Concrete Construction

Synopsis: During concrete construction, form oil, bond breaker, concrete splatter and other types of contaminants often contaminate reinforcement. Current specifications and quality control measures require the removal and clean up of these contaminants before the placement of concrete due to a concern of a reduction in bonding capacity. This is costly, labor intensive, and may not be necessary...

08311 - Corrosion of Epoxy Coated Rebar in Cracked Marine Substructure Concrete

Epoxy coated reinforcement (ECR) has been used in Florida from the 1970s to 1990s but has been discontinued due to the observation of severe corrosion in some ECR bridges after short service times. Corrosion projections have been made in earlier investigations based on corrosion initiation and propagation concepts but did not consider the presence of structural cracks. The current research in p...
